Hidden River Ranch in Lampasas, Texas was the stunning backdrop for Samantha and Clayton’s December wedding, proving that the Texas Hill Country is just as breathtaking under a winter moon as it is under a summer sun. There is a specific kind of magic that happens in Lampasas when the air turns crisp and the sky opens up, and this day was the perfect example of why winter weddings are truly elite.
The couple leaned into the season with a design palette that felt both timeless and festive. Samantha’s look was the epitome of winter elegance, featuring a gown that shimmered beautifully against the rustic stone and warm wood of the ranch. The day began with a sense of calm anticipation in the bridal suite. Before the rush of the day began, we took a few moments to capture some bridal portraits of Samantha. The soft window light in the suite was fantastic, highlighting the delicate details of her gown and creating a beautiful, ethereal mood with her veil. She looked simply radiant and ready to see her groom.
A Candlelit Chapel Ceremony
As evening approached, guests gathered in the ranch's stunning chapel. The ceremony space was transformed into a warm, romantic sanctuary. Candles lined the aisle, casting a soft glow that complemented the rustic wood beams and the large window behind the altar.
The Moonlit Dip Kiss
As photographers, we are always chasing the "golden hour" light at sunset. But on this night, the Texas sky gave us something even rarer and more spectacular: a brilliant, full December moon.
We stole the newlyweds away from the party for a few minutes to take advantage of this incredible scene out in the pasture. The result is one of my absolute favorite photos from the entire day. This cinematic dip kiss under the moon isn't just a picture; it's a core memory captured forever.
The Celebration
Once the outdoor portraits were wrapped, it was back to the Event Barn for a night of pure celebration. From the heartfelt toasts that brought a few tears to the eyes, to a dance floor that stayed packed until the final sparkler exit, the energy never wavered. Samantha and Clayton, thank you for letting us witness your beautiful start. Your wedding proved that even in the middle of winter, the Texas Hill Country can be the warmest place on earth—especially when you have a love (and a moon) this bright.
